Distinguished guitarist Mohamed Ismail Abdel-Jabbar died in Al-Haram Hospital in Egypt after a long illness. The musician Muhammad Jawish, his late colleague, mourned him, “We bear witness that he bore the illness with all patience and fortitude, and he was smiling and laughing – as usual – during the darkest days of his illness. We spent together one of the most beautiful periods in the artist Muhammad Faisal Al-Jazzar’s band, and it was his cheerful spirit and kindness that surrounded everyone,” He said. “He was a lover of music, meticulous in his execution, passionately in love with his companion, the guitar, which he gave from his soul, until illness (suddenly) paralyzed him and he suffered from it with the patience of a believer. May his mercy be forgiven,” He added. “The deceased followed his friend, companion, and neighbor in the neighborhood, the late resident bass player, guitar artist Khaled Abdeen (Cengiz), who passed away during the first months of the war after an illness that did not last him long.” Jawish continued.
