South Korean Lim Se-hyun set the first world and Olympic record at the Paris 2024 Olympics in the bow and arrow competition in the women’s classification stage yesterday, Thursday.
Lim scored 694 points out of a possible 720 points to occupy first place in the ranking, and broke the world record of her compatriot Kang Tae-yung when she scored 692 points in 2019. In her first Olympic participation, Lim (21 years old) leads the rankings in the individual competition, which starts from the round of 64 next Tuesday, and will also compete in the mixed team competition next month. South Korea also topped the women’s team standings by scoring 2,046 points, 50 points ahead of second-placed China, and is aiming for the tenth consecutive gold medal in this category.
