Araujo’s “treachery” raises Barcelona’s fears

Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo has raised the Catalan club’s fears regarding his registration in La Liga this season. Araujo underwent surgery a few days ago in Finland due to an injury to his right hamstring tendon, and will be out of action until about December. Because of this, Barcelona is allowed, according to La Liga regulations, to use 80% of Araujo’s salary to register another player. Barça was seriously considering using this feature, and Barcelona has concerns about not being able to re-register Araujo in the team’s roster next January.
She explained that if this happens, Araujo will have the right to negotiate with any other club according to FIFA laws, and the greatest possibility at the present time is that Barcelona will not resort to registering another player instead of Araujo, to avoid the risk of losing the defender.
