Sudanese Government Delegation to Jeddah to meet with US Officials

The Sudanese government has decided to send a delegation to the Saudi city of Jeddah headed by the Minister of Minerals, Mohamed Bashir Abdullah Abu Namu, to consult with the US government regarding the invitation it submitted to attend the negotiations that will be held in Geneva on August 14 regarding the war waged by the Rapid Support RSF Militia against Sudan.

The Sudanese government said in a statement on Friday that the step comes

out of its keenness to achieve peace, security and stability in the country and to lift the suffering resulting from the war waged by the rebel militia from the shoulders of our people and citizens.

Abu Namu said in a tweet on the (X) platform, “I headed to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Friday in my capacity as a minister in the government and head of the Sudanese government delegation to the city of Jeddah.”

He explained that the mission of the delegation is to consult with the government of the United States of America USA regarding the invitation it extended to attend the negotiations that will be held in Geneva on the fourteenth of this August.

He affirmed that the delegation he heads will focus its attention during the upcoming discussions on the homeland and the citizen who suffered from the crimes and violations of the “rebel militia” in light of the silence of human rights organizations and the international community – he said.
