Official: (28) Killed During Militia Attacks on El Fasher

Sudan Events – Reports

The acting governor of North Darfur, Al-Hafiz Bakhit, accused the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on Sunday of killing around 28 civilians during an attack on El Fasher on Saturday.

The governor said in a statement after visiting the injured at the Saudi Hospital, accompanied by the Emergency Health Committee and Health Sector Support: “28 civilians were killed and 46 others injured by RSF gunfire during their attack on El Fasher on Saturday.”

He accused the RSF of committing massacres against the residents of El Fasher, systematically targeting civilian markets, and raiding citizens’ homes, killing them.

He stated that the armed forces, the joint force, and self-defense forces – groups of mobilized volunteers – managed to repel the attacks by what he described as the RSF militia, inflicting heavy losses in lives and military equipment, forcing the remaining attackers to flee.

He added: “The army is capable of defending the nation’s honor, and El Fasher will remain resilient and soon be free of any rebel or traitor.”
