Militia Commits Massacre and Assassination of 15 People in Sennar

Sudan Events – Reports

The Sennar Youth Gathering announced on Monday that the Rapid Support Forces militia committed a horrific massacre, killing at least 15 people from the area of “Jalghani” in Sennar state.

A statement by the Sennar Youth Gathering said, “On Sunday, August 11, the Rapid Support Forces militia attacked the village of Jalghani, south of Abu Jar locality on the western bank of the Blue Nile, resulting in the death of at least 15 people according to initial statistics.”

The statement explained that the attacking force overran all neighborhoods of the village and randomly fired at the residents, despite the villagers’ attempts to defend their area with sticks and farming tools against the militia’s military arsenal.

The gathering revealed cases of mass displacement of the area’s residents, who fled to the villages of “Omdurman Fallata, Benzaga,” as well as to the city of Damazin after being prevented from burying the victims’ bodies.

It noted that medical and service facilities in the village were completely taken out of service by order of the Rapid Support Forces militia, which it said is heavily deployed in the market, police station, hospital, and other locations.
