Sudan Events – Agencies
AC Milan remains winless after three rounds of the new Serie A season following a 2-2 draw with Lazio on Saturday.
Milan had previously drawn 2-2 with Torino in the first round and suffered a 2-1 defeat to Parma.
Milan entered this season with a fresh start under new coach Paulo Fonseca, who replaced Stefano Pioli. The club also made several new signings, including French midfielder Youssouf Fofana from Monaco, English striker Tammy Abraham from Roma, and Spanish forward Álvaro Morata.
Surprisingly, Fonseca chose not to start Portuguese winger Rafael Leão and French defender Theo Hernández, both of whom are usually regular starters.
Napoli, on the other hand, pulled off a dramatic 2-1 victory over Parma, scoring two goals in stoppage time, taking advantage of the sending-off of Parma’s Japanese goalkeeper Zion Suzuki, 15 minutes before the end of the match.
Parma took the lead through Frenchman Ange Bonny, who scored from a penalty in the 19th minute.
Napoli struggled to equalize until Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku, a new arrival at the club, managed to score in the 92nd minute.
Lukaku, who has previously played for Roma and Inter, came on as a substitute in the 62nd minute.
Napoli didn’t settle for a draw, as Cameroonian André-Frank Zambo Anguissa scored the winning goal in the 96th minute, securing all three points for his team.
Elsewhere, Lecce, despite being reduced to ten men, managed to defeat Cagliari 1-0, with Montenegrin Nikola Krstović scoring the only goal in the 26th minute. However, his teammate, Danish Patrick Dorgo, was sent off in the 45th minute.
Bologna drew 1-1 with Empoli. Giovanni Fabbian scored for Bologna in the second minute, while Ghanaian Emmanuel Gyasi equalized for Empoli in the third minute.
On Sunday, Genoa is set to face Verona, Fiorentina will take on Monza, Juventus will play Roma, and Udinese will meet Como.
