Lebanese source: Walkie-talkie batteries were mixed with the explosive substance “Betin”
Sudan Events – Agencies
A Lebanese source familiar with the components of the walkie-talkies used by Hezbollah, which exploded this week, told Reuters that the batteries in these devices were mixed with a highly explosive compound known as “Betin.”
The source mentioned that the way the explosive was planted in the battery made it extremely difficult to detect.
At least 37 people were killed, and more than 3,000 others were injured when wireless communication devices (pagers) initially exploded, followed by other devices (walkie-talkies), in two waves of attacks on Tuesday and Wednesday. Lebanon and Hezbollah claim that Israel was behind the attacks.
