Lamine Yamal Ruled Out of Spain’s Upcoming Nations League Match

Sudan Events – Agencies
Lamine Yamal has withdrawn from Spain’s squad to return to Barcelona after suffering mild discomfort in his hamstring during Spain’s 1-0 Nations League win over Denmark on Saturday.
The 17-year-old was substituted in the 90th minute and was seen limping back to the team bus after the match, having endured several challenges throughout the game.
Tests conducted by the Spanish Football Federation on Sunday morning revealed no tear in Yamal’s hamstring. However, he will miss Spain’s home match against Serbia on Tuesday and will return to his club for further recovery. Atletico Madrid’s Rodrigo Riquelme has been called up to replace him.
Spain coach Luis de la Fuente called on referees to “protect talented players” after the match, noting that opposing teams were seeking to “intimidate and provoke physical contact” against players like Yamal.
De la Fuente added, “But Lamine has to get used to it. I wish things were easier, but that’s how this sport is.”
The coach praised Yamal’s exceptional attitude, saying, “He made a big impact for us from the right wing. He has a special talent.”
Barcelona faces a busy schedule after the international break, with matches against Sevilla in La Liga on October 20, followed by a Champions League clash at home against Bayern Munich three days later, and a trip to Real Madrid for the season’s first El Clasico on October 26.
