Stuttgart’s Coach: Facing Bayern Is a Big Challenge

Sebastian Hoeneß, head coach of Stuttgart, expressed his respect for Bayern Munich, the current leaders of the German Bundesliga, ahead of their anticipated match this Saturday, despite the Bavarian team’s recent poor performances.
In a press conference today (Thursday), Hoeneß stated: “It’s the biggest challenge we have now in Germany, and perhaps in Europe.”
Bayern enters the match after two consecutive draws, first against defending champions Bayer Leverkusen and then Eintracht Frankfurt, as well as a Champions League loss to England’s Aston Villa.
However, Hoeneß emphasized that Bayern has returned to its usual form following a season where they failed to win the title for the first time in a decade, while Stuttgart finished second ahead of Bayern in third.
Stuttgart’s coach added: “The team has become very strong, and Vincent Kompany seems to be doing a good job. Bayern Munich has a good squad, but we want to maintain our chances and play a more open game than last year.”
Stuttgart, in a similar situation to their opponent on Saturday, has failed to win their last three matches. Hoeneß stressed that if Stuttgart wants to survive in Munich, they must capitalize on every small opportunity.
