The Army Achieves Victories on Multiple Fronts
Sudan Events – Agencies
The Sudanese Armed Forces, along with allied forces, intensified their efforts in Al-Jazirah State, central Sudan, and on Monday regained control of key locations in the south and east of the state that had been under the control of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
Recapture of Umm Al-Qura
Army soldiers shared footage confirming their takeover of the administrative headquarters of Umm Al-Qura locality, near Gedaref State, about 40 kilometers east of Wad Madani, the capital of Al-Jazirah State.
Former RSF commander in Al-Jazirah, Abu Aqla Keikel, who defected to the army in late October, appeared in a video surrounded by army troops in Umm Al-Qura.
This eastern advancement followed the arrival of the army’s deputy commander, Shams Al-Din Kabashi, on Sunday to the frontlines in Al-Fao, Gedaref State.
Liberation of Sennar Sugar Factory
In another combat axis, the army forces took control of the Sennar Sugar Factory, located approximately 60 kilometers southwest of Wad Madani. They also secured surrounding villages that the RSF had used as a base, exploiting the factory’s infrastructure.
Local sources told Sudan Tribune that the army forces advanced to the bridge at Wad Al-Haddad, about 7 kilometers south of RSF positions in Al-Hajj Abdullah city.
According to military sources cited by Sudan Tribune, the army’s progress in the Sennar Sugar Factory area (to the south) and Umm Al-Qura (to the east) is expected to facilitate a push by army forces stationed in Al-Managil, west of Wad Madani, toward the state capital. The forward elements of this axis are currently positioned in Al-Madina Arab, 16 kilometers west of Wad Madani.
The RSF has held control of Wad Madani, the capital of Al-Jazirah State, since December of last year, extending their reach as far as Sennar State to the south.
In October, the army reclaimed the strategic Jabal Moya area, located on the main road linking Sennar, Al-Jazirah, and White Nile States. This was followed by securing the towns of Al-Dinder, Wad Al-Nil, Abu Hajar, and Al-Suki, before capturing Sinja, the capital of Sennar State, last week.
Advancements in Bahri
On the Khartoum Bahri front, local sources reported that army forces have advanced, reaching the Azraq Complex on Al-Maouna Street in the Shambat area.
In a large-scale ground operation conducted in late September, the army had previously secured areas such as Al-Muqran near central Khartoum, Al-Halfaya, Al-Azriqap, and the entire Kadro district in northern Khartoum Bahri, aiming to penetrate deeper into the city.
