Serie A: Atalanta Takes Temporary Lead with Win over Milan
Atalanta moved to the top of the Serie A standings temporarily with a 2-1 victory over AC Milan on Friday in the 14th round of matches.
Atalanta now has 34 points, two ahead of Napoli, who can reclaim the top spot with a win against Lazio on Sunday. Milan remains in seventh place with 22 points.
Atalanta struck first in the 12th minute through Charles De Ketelaere, but Milan equalized via Álvaro Morata in the 22nd minute. Ademola Lookman secured Atalanta’s win with an 87th-minute goal.
In another match, Inter Milan defeated Parma 3-1 with goals from Federico Dimarco, Nicolo Barella, and Marcus Thuram. Inter remains third with 31 points, one behind Napoli. Parma sits 12th with 15 points. Dimarco impressed with a stunning low shot after a backheel setup before Barella and Thuram added to the tally. An own goal by Matteo Darmian in the 81st minute gave Parma a consolation.
