Oshiek Reveals Gold Revenues in Kassala

The acting Minister of Finance and Labor in Kassala State, Mousa Oshiek, revealed that the state’s gold revenues reached 2.3 billion pounds, with 7% coming from export proceeds.
In his speech during the training workshop for collectors and monitors in mining markets in Kassala, the minister mentioned that the challenges were significant and required strict control over all gold in the trading market and regulating transactions to increase gold exports.
The Minister of Finance called for greater cooperation between communities hosting mining industries and activities, local administrations, and relevant authorities to optimally exploit the state’s mining resources, benefiting host communities through services such as education, healthcare, water, and hospitals. He emphasized the importance of the workshop in training collectors, especially in electronic collection systems, and noted that his ministry is always keen on developing skills and expertise in various fields to improve work performance and increase revenues.
Oshiek praised the General Director of the Sudanese Mineral Resources Company, Mohamed Tahir Omar, describing him as having extended his support to Kassala State, especially in the area of corporate social responsibility and continuous support for the war effort.
On his part, the Director of the company’s office in Kassala State, Hamza Mohamed Othman Hamza, explained that the workshop targeted workers in the mining markets, monitors, and administrative staff, noting that they received advanced training. He said the goal of the training was to maximize the company’s revenues in general and that a significant leap could be achieved in expanding the state’s revenue sources. He revealed that the company made a large contribution to the state’s revenues and praised the role played by the Ministry of Finance and relevant authorities in developing the mining sector in Kassala.
