Saudi Club Renews Interest in Vinícius Júnior

A major Saudi club, whose name remains undisclosed, continues to express interest in signing Real Madrid’s Brazilian star, Vinícius Júnior. According to reports from ESPN, the club reached out to the player’s representatives last month.

The initial contact reportedly occurred last summer, when Saudi officials first expressed their interest. Although Vinícius did not reject the initial offer outright, no formal proposal was made at that time.

In December, the club representatives resumed communication with Vinícius’ camp, though no concrete offer has materialized yet. These discussions are aimed at keeping communication channels open and demonstrating the seriousness of their intent to sign the Brazilian star.

Vinícius is considered one of the brightest talents in global football. Last year, he was named FIFA’s The Best Men’s Player and finished second in the Ballon d’Or rankings. He played a crucial role in Real Madrid’s La Liga and UEFA Champions League victories last season. His current contract with Real Madrid runs until 2027 and includes a massive €1 billion release clause.

Last August, ESPN revealed an initial offer to Vinícius’ team, which included an annual salary of €350 million.

Although Vinícius has not ruled out the possibility of a move, negotiations have yet to make significant progress. Reports also suggest that any potential deal would require Real Madrid’s approval for a transfer fee below the release clause amount.

Earlier reports speculated that Al-Ahli could be Vinícius’ future destination, but a recent update from Marca indicates that Al-Hilal, currently leading the Saudi Pro League, might become the more likely choice, especially to fill the gap left by Brazilian star Neymar.

The Saudi Pro League continues to attract global football superstars.

Commenting on the possibility of signing Vinícius, Omar Magrobil, CEO of the Saudi Pro League, told Marca: “We are not dreaming. It’s only a matter of time and negotiations.”
