United Star Fernandes Clings to Title Hopes

Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes said his team will keep chasing titles, shifting focus to the UEFA Europa League after the FA Cup holders were eliminated by Fulham.

United won the FA Cup last May by defeating Manchester City, capping off a disappointing season under former manager Erik ten Hag. His successor, Portuguese coach Rúben Amorim, witnessed the team’s exit from the FA Cup’s fifth round after a penalty shootout loss to Fulham at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Fernandes, the United captain, told the British news agency PA Media: “Of course, I helped the team equalize and tried to push for a win, but unfortunately, it wasn’t enough.”

However, the Portuguese midfielder remained optimistic: “We are definitely looking forward to the rest of the season and focusing on our next Europa League match. Winning this title is one of our goals this season.”
