Inauguration of Sudan-Eritrea Al-Laffa Crossing

Acting Governor of Kasala State, Khojali Hamad Abdullah, has underlined the importance of Al-Laffa border crossing with Eritrea. He affirmed during a meeting on Wednesday with the Director of the Customs Forces and Chairperson of the Committee for Opening the Border Crossings between Sudan and Eritrea, that the border crossings were of sovereign importance for the Sudan. He said every aspect related to the crossing should be up to par with the national image and that people whole work to create an ideal working environment for the staff at the crossing.

He called on them to do their best to upgrade and develop the crossings and that the opening will make a significant contribution to reduce smuggling operations.

For his part, the Director of the Customs Forces and Chairperson of the Committee for Opening the Crossings between Sudan and Eritrea, Police Lt-Gen. Adam Al-Nour, explained that the visit comes in implementation of the directives by the Sovereign Council.

He said his team comes to this area to check the final touches for the opening of the crossing points, stressing the important providing best services for the people doing business through the crossing
