Casado and Martínez Ruled Out of Spain Squad

The Spanish Football Federation announced on Monday that midfielder Marc Casado and defender Iñigo Martínez will miss Spain’s UEFA Nations League quarterfinals due to injury.
The defending champions, Spain, will face the Netherlands in the first leg of the quarterfinals on Thursday, before hosting the return leg on Sunday.
Casado sustained a right knee injury during the second half of Barcelona’s 4-2 victory over Atlético Madrid in La Liga on Sunday. As a result, Spain’s coach Luis de la Fuente has called up Bayer Leverkusen’s Álex García as his replacement.
Meanwhile, Martínez, also a Barcelona player, has been dealing with a right knee issue despite completing the match against Atlético Madrid. De la Fuente has chosen Bournemouth’s 21-year-old defender Dean Huijsen as his replacement in the squad.
