The Governor of the Nile River, Mohammed Al-Badawi Abdul Majid Abu Qarn, has stressed that it was necessary to speed up the treatment of environmental problems in mining areas and markets and find safe alternatives to extract gold, adding during the second regular meeting of the Mining Coordination Council in the state (Monday) it was necessary to take strict measures against the presence of the gold mining residues inside homes as well as washing machines in mining market places

The director of the Sudanese Company for Mineral Resources in the state, Moataz Haj Nour, revealed a leap in collection and revenues during the period from January to October of this year, and reassured the environmental situation in the mining areas and markets and issues related to the security and insurance aspects that ensure the preservation of the product and the fight against smuggling and all negative manifestations in the markets of drugs and the need to end child labor.

The meeting recommended the need to remove the mining residues from inside the living quarters in the southern areas of Berber and others, and the need to activate laws and legislation regarding the presence of mixers in mining markets and reduce their operation, as well as issuing strict insurance controls for the movement of the product inside and outside the markets to ensure non-smuggling, as well as finding safe alternatives to mercury, cyanide and other dangerous extraction materials.

The meeting decided to carry out intensive security campaigns for mining areas and markets to combat all negative phenomena and decided to introduce mobile clinics in the markets, as well as the activation of the role of coordination councils in the localities to play their full role in the control and handling of all the negatives, and the activation of laws and legislation on the environment.
