Militia Arrests Traders in South Darfur

Multiple sources and relatives of detainees reported Sunday that the RSF arrested 20 traders in Ad al-Fursan, a town 86 kilometers west of Nyala, South Darfur.

Abdel-Raziq Abdullah Mahmoud, a relative of one of the detainees, told Darfur24 that RSF intelligence forces detained more than 20 traders, including Zakeen al-Jali Doudin, Ahmed Abdel-Rahman “Khalsan,” Ahmed Hamma, Ibrahim Saleh, Hassan Ali, al-Hadi Ali, Hamed Mubasher, Fadheel Mohamed Ibrahim, Mohamed Abbers, and Abdel-Aziz Mohamed Mahmoud, along with ten others.

He noted that Ahmed Hamma is considered one of the largest wholesale merchants in the town.

A local source within the RSF’s civilian administration in South Darfur — and a native of the area — told Darfur24 that the arrests were due to the traders’ direct dealings with the Sudanese government in Port Sudan.

According to the source, all detainees were transferred from Ad al-Fursan to the RSF’s Daqris detention facility, 20 kilometers southwest of Nyala, with no further information provided about their fate.
