IGAD Confers with Djibouti over Sudan

A meeting was convened on Thursday morning bringing together the Executive Secretary of the inter-governmental authority for Development (IGAD) Dr. Workneh Gebeyehu and the Djiboutian Foreign Minister Mahmoud Ali Youssef
The special meeting, according to the Executive Secretary in a statement on X platform centered on the regional situation including the steps that follow the negotiation held in Jeddah on the Sudan and in which IGAD Executive Secretary participated as representative for IGAD as well as the African Union.
The meeting discussed arrangements for the coming IGAD summit meeting.
It is to be recalled that the President of the Sovereign Council met in the Kenyan capital with president William Ruto and agreed to convene an IGAD emergency meeting to review the crisis in the Sudan and how to push forwards the Jeddah peace negotiations between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Militia Rapid Support Forces.
