Local activists reported that strikes by drones and artillery shelling carried out by the Rapid Support Forces on a shelter in El Fasher killed at least 60 people between Friday night and Saturday morning.
El Fasher remains under siege by the Rapid Support Forces. Continuous drone and artillery attacks have targeted displaced persons’ shelters, mosques, hospitals, and clinics.
The El Fasher Resistance Committees stated on Saturday: “Bodies remain under the rubble, while others burned alive in shelter caravans. Children, women, and elders were killed in cold blood.” The committee reported that the shelter was hit by two drone strikes and eight artillery shells.
They added that hundreds of civilians have been killed as a result of the attacks, while local residents told Reuters that they dug shelters beneath their homes and neighborhoods for protection. According to the active group, the city loses an average of 30 people daily due to violence, hunger, and disease.
