World Cup Qualifiers: Belgium Edge Wales in Thrilling Encounter

Kevin De Bruyne struck twice from the penalty spot as Belgium came from behind to secure a 4–2 win away to Wales on Monday, moving a step closer to qualifying for next year’s World Cup finals.
Joe Rodon opened the scoring for Wales in the eighth minute at Cardiff City Stadium, but De Bruyne equalized from the spot ten minutes later before veteran full-back Thomas Meunier put Belgium ahead 2–1 before halftime.
De Bruyne converted another penalty in the 76th minute to extend Belgium’s lead, but substitute Nathan Broadhead pulled one back for Wales two minutes from time.
Just 60 seconds later, Leandro Trossard restored Belgium’s two-goal cushion with a composed finish.
Belgium now top Group J with 14 points, one ahead of North Macedonia, who drew 1–1 at home with Kazakhstan.
