Sudan and Russia Discuss Cooperation in the Oil Sector and Refinery Maintenance

Sudan’s Minister of Energy, Engineer Adviser Al-Mutasim Ibrahim Ahmed, met with his Russian counterpart, Sergey Tsilov, in Moscow.

The two sides discussed bilateral cooperation in the fields of energy and oil—sectors that have been among the most affected by the ongoing war in Sudan.

The Russian delegation expressed readiness to work with Sudan in the field of hydropower, while Russian companies signaled their willingness to meet Sudan’s energy needs.

Talks also covered cooperation in the oil sector and refinery maintenance, in addition to the exchange of expertise, training, and capacity building.
