Electricity Director Inspects Damage at Atbara Substation

The Director General of the Sudan Electricity Holding Company, Engineer and Advisor Abdallah Ahmed Mohamed Ali, conducted a field visit on Saturday to the Atbara power substation to assess the extent of structural and technical damage caused by attacks attributed to the rebel militia, and to monitor urgent engineering efforts to restore services.

He was accompanied by Engineer Yasser Al-Shazly, Director General of the Electricity Transmission Company, and Engineer Walid Kabashi, Director of Maintenance and Operations at the transmission company, as part of coordinated efforts among electricity sector departments to expedite repairs.

During the visit, the director general and his delegation also paid condolences to the families of two Civil Defense martyrs who were killed while performing their national duty to protect and secure the station during the attack. Engineer Abdallah praised the heroic role and close coordination between electricity workers and Civil Defense forces, stressing that the martyrs’ sacrifice will remain a guiding example for all employees safeguarding vital facilities.
