Sudan Exports Live Livestock Shipment to Saudi Arabia

Sudan announced on Tuesday the export of a shipment of live livestock to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia via a vessel at Osman Digna Port.
Minister of Animal Resources and Fisheries, Professor Ahmed Al-Tijani Al-Mansouri, inspected arrangements related to compliance with international specifications for exporting live livestock to Saudi Arabia. He emphasized the importance of integration between the public and private sectors.
During his visit on Tuesday to the Suakin veterinary quarantine facility, the minister stated that veterinarians represent the first line of defense in combating epidemics and safeguarding animal health.
He received a comprehensive briefing from the Director General of the General Administration of Quarantine and Meat Health, Prince Jaafar Saad, along with his team, on efforts to upgrade and develop the sector in line with international standards, as well as the challenges they face. The minister also discussed workers’ concerns at the quarantine facility and pledged to resolve them in coordination with relevant authorities.
He also inspected Al-Radwan Export Slaughterhouse, owned by the Livestock Wealth Bank, which is currently out of operation, and reviewed ongoing arrangements to resume its operations through partnerships with foreign investors.
