Al Jazira State Implements 4,500 Solar Energy Projects in Water Facilities

The Governor of Al Jazira State, Al-Tahir Ibrahim Al-Khair, announced the continuation of victories by the Sudanese Armed Forces, other regular forces, supporting forces, mobilized fighters, and the popular resistance across various fronts.
Speaking at the opening of the Energy and Solar Power Exhibition in Madani, the governor declared that his government is moving ahead with expanding solar energy projects. He stressed the importance of integrating solar power systems into the agricultural and industrial sectors to reduce production costs. He called on solar energy companies to contribute to street lighting, lower costs, and offer flexible installment-based payment systems. He noted that the opening of the exhibition reflects the stability and recovery of the state.
For his part, Engineer Abu Bakr Abdullah, Director General of the Ministry of Urban Planning, Housing, and Public Utilities and Minister-in-Charge, revealed that 6,117 projects were implemented over the past year, including 4,500 solar energy projects in water sources. These projects provided the Sudanese government with 25 megawatts of electricity and saved 3,000 tons of fuel, making Al Jazira the leading state in the use of solar energy. He added that the ministry’s strategy focuses on expanding alternative energy projects.
