Arrival of 400 Transformers for Rehabilitation of the National Grid in Khartoum

Sudan Electricity Company announced the arrival of the first shipment of reconstruction transformers, comprising 400 units of various capacities and high technical specifications, designated exclusively for rehabilitating the national power grid in Khartoum State.
In a press statement, the company said the arrival of this batch marks the launch of the “major phase” of the capital’s reconstruction project.
According to the statement, engineering teams and field platforms will immediately begin replacing damaged transformers and installing new ones in residential neighborhoods and commercial areas, ensuring the expansion of illuminated zones and the reduction of dark areas left by recent destruction.
The company confirmed that this shipment represents the first building block in a series of successive deliveries that will arrive to cover all affected sectors. It added that these installations were contracted as a comprehensive solution to ensure sustainable power supply and voltage stability in targeted areas.
The company reiterated that all recent financial and administrative measures, including the restructuring of the new tariff, directly and tangibly support improvement plans.
“Our ultimate goal is a fully illuminated Khartoum,” the statement said, adding that “these 400 transformers are only the first step toward fulfilling this promise and ensuring a stable and dignified life for all citizens.”
