Police: Khartoum Airport Passport Office Equipped with Required Operational Systems

Police authorities announced on Friday the reactivation and upgrading of technical systems that had been suspended during the war, including the watchlists and control system, the passenger movement system, and the foreigners’ registry. They also revealed that the passport office at Khartoum International Airport has been fully equipped with all necessary devices and operational equipment, in addition to network connectivity to ensure uninterrupted service.

A meeting of the Passports and Civil Registry Authority, chaired by its head, Police Lieutenant General (Legal Affairs) Mohamed Al-Hassan Dinkaoui, confirmed—according to the Police Press Office—the completion of the return of all departments and branch offices to resume operations from Khartoum State following the completion of maintenance and rehabilitation works at their premises. This will allow them to provide basic services to citizens under normal conditions.

The meeting also discussed ongoing arrangements to maintain the passports and identity documents factory in Jabra, south of Khartoum, in preparation for its imminent reopening, alongside preparations to launch the electronic passport production facility.
