
The Sudanese Ambassador to Addis Ababa and Permanent Representative to the African Union, Al-Zain Ibrahim Hussein, received the African Union’s Special Envoy for the Prevention of Genocide and Mass Atrocities, Adama Dieng, at the Sudanese embassy on Friday.
The two sides discussed the outcomes of Dieng’s recent visit to Sudan and his subsequent consultations. Ambassador Al-Zain described their discussions in a post on X as constructive, noting that they covered the results of Dieng’s visit and the latest developments in Sudan.
The ambassador urged the African Union to play a more effective role by supporting the state’s efforts through existing national mechanisms aimed at promoting human rights. Both sides agreed to continue coordination and cooperation.
