Carthage Festival Administration chose Dr. Yousuf Aidabi amid honorees at the 24th round of Carthage Theater Days (December 2-10), in Tunisia.
Dr. Yousuf Aidabi is a Sudanese intellectual. He stands out as a major figure in Sudan throughout the seventies of the last century. He is a prominent name in the cultural affairs, and administrator and lecturer at the Higher Institute of Music and Theater, a playwright and theorist. It suffices to say that he is the owner of the invitation of (theater for all of Sudan), that has stirred debates. Aidabi is considered one of the founders of what is known as the School of the (Forest and Desert).
After his migration from Sudan, he could also be seen as a major contributor in theatre issues at the Arab level, particularly in the United Arab Emirates UAE as a cultural planner, journalist, and theatrical actor, whose influence extended to all Arab theaters. Dr. Aidabi, and through his participation in the Arab Theater Organization, formed a bridge through which Arab playwrights cross to meet each other.
