Zainab Beleil: A Creative Sudanese Writer

Zainab Beleil was born on March 7, 1947 in Sinja, Sennar State. She is a member of the Sudanese Writers Union and a member of the Association of Women Writers.
Her talent began in middle school, where she began frequenting the school library, her beginnings as a writer began with an essay topic in composition class, where the teacher praised her and told her that she would succeed “the Queen of the House Mohamed,” and she did not know at that time who the “Queen of the House Mohamed was.
She used to listen daily to her grandmother’s riddles in what she called the only beneficiary of those stories because in the future she became a novel writer.
She obtained a diploma from the Teacher Training Institute and graduated from the Faculty of Music and Drama at Sudan University, specializing in criticism and theater studies.
She also obtained a diploma in humanities studies.
She works as a programmer and presenter. She prepared and presented the “Story Forum” program on Khartoum Radio, the “Be Beautiful” program on Medical Radio, and the “Sudanese Kalam” program on National Radio.
She prepared episodes of the series “Khartoum and the People” on National Radio.
She took the position of President of the Narrative and Criticism Forum, and the President of the Sudanese Women’s Organization to Fight Poverty.
Member of the Sudanese Writers Union, member of the Association of Women Writers, Narrative Secretary of the Sudanese Writers Union, and member of the “Ideal Mother” Award Committee, Zain Mobile Phone Company, Sudan.
Zainab Beleil won the State Award for Dramatic Texts for The Trial in 1975 AD, and the Martyr Al-Zubair Award for Creativity and Scientific Excellence for the novel “The Cactus Plant.”
