South African Percy Tau, the Egyptian Al-Ahly star, won the Best Player Award on the African continent during the ceremony held by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), today, Monday, in the Moroccan city of Marrakesh.

Percy Tau outperformed his competitors, Congolese Feston Mayele, the current Egyptian Pyramids striker, and former Tanzanian Young Africans, alongside Namibian Peter Shaliulile, the South African Mamelodi Sundowns striker.

Percy Tau led Al-Ahly of Egypt to win the African Champions League title for the 11th time in its history last season, by defeating Wydad Casablanca (3-2) on aggregate.
