Sesame and Sorghum Prices in Decline

The head of the Rain-fed Sector Farmers’ Association in Gedaref State, Yasser Al-Saab, fears that harvesting operations will stop as a result of the confusion and panic that prevailed after the war square moved to Gezira State. He said in a statement to (Sudan Events): There is a fear that harvesting operations will stop if the state of panic continues.
Revealing that the prices of the sesame crop were affected and dropped from (75.78) to (60) thousand pounds per quintal amid the decline in purchasing power.
The price of sorghum was reduced from (75) thousand to (55) thousand pounds and lower than that, and the decline was attributed to merchants’ fear of looting and theft of crops.
