Hemedti: We will form a government
Khartoum – Sudan Event
Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo (Hemedti), commander of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), said in an audio recording (Thursday), that what happened last April was a war of remnants of the ousted Al Bashir government in order to block the political process.
He pointed out that Al-Burhan failed to repel the (RSF) and moved with the remnants of the ousted Al Bashir government to Port Sudan in order to plan a return to power. “Al-Burhan is trying to impersonate the President of Sudan even though he does not have a legitimate capacity.” He added.
He also pointed out that Al-Burhan failed to manage the army, let alone manage Sudan.
Hemedti stressed that the priority now is to end the war, unify Sudan and build a single professional army in Sudan.
“We will not allow the creation of an alternative capital to Khartoum, and we want a peaceful solution and the formation of a civil authority to rule Sudan.” He continued.
Hemedti said that the Rapid Support controls most of Khartoum State and large parts of the country, and that what he described as the remnants of the ousted Al Bashir government and Burhans control eastern Sudan and some areas in the north.
Hemedti threatened that announcing a government from eastern Sudan would push them to consult widely to declare a real authority with Khartoum as its capital.
