Anticipated Visit by Sudanese Delegation to Border Crossings with Egypt to Facilitate Transportation

Today, the member of the Sovereign Council, Ibrahim Jaber Ibrahim, met with the acting Minister of Transportation, Hisham Abu Zeid.

The Minister stated that he provided briefings to the members of the Sovereign Council on the directions and recommendations of the Chairperson of the Sovereign Council, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, regarding facilitating procedures and the flow of goods, commodities, and citizens at the border crossings. He noted that he informed the council member about the overall measures taken to address issues at the crossings and mentioned that a delegation will conduct field visits to the Arqin and Ashkeit crossings to ensure the implementation of the Chairperson of the Sovereign Council’s decisions and directives in this regard.

The Minister of Transportation also mentioned that the meeting discussed several issues related to the challenges facing transportation facilities, development, and rehabilitation, as well as river transport operations, with the aim of stabilizing transportation processes to address the current challenges in the country and focus on reconstruction and recovery in the post-war period.
