Goldsmiths Department to Open New External Markets

Director General of the Sudanese Standards and Metrology Organisation SSMO Rahba Saeed Abdullah, announced the tireless efforts with the authorities to provide modern laser devices for examining and stamping jewellery (XRF) and computerize gold export operations in the Red Sea sector.

She pledged to overcome all administrative and technical obstacles that hinder the progress of the gold export process, directing, during her meeting with gold companies and the Goldsmiths Division in the Red Sea State (Saturday), to immediately provide all technical requirements, and to integrate efforts and services for gold export operations, which represents an important economic resource for the country.

In the meantime, the Director of the Standards Sector in the Red Sea, Al Tigani Bashir Taha, confirmed the stability of gold export operations through the port. He indicated the cooperation and coordination with dealers to facilitate and speed up procedures and work to provide technical authority services to enhance gold exports and the manufacturing and return operations of gold jewellery and artifacts.

On their part, representatives of companies and goldsmiths called for the necessity of creating an electronic platform for procedures, tightening coordination between the competent authorities in the field, and considering opening new foreign markets.
