USAID: Rapid Support committed mass murders in Darfur

Agencies – Sudan Events

Director of the United States Agency for International Development, Samantha Power, said that the Rapid Support Forces committed mass killings in West Darfur state, and condemned the increase in violence, which she confirmed was hampering humanitarian aid.
“In West Darfur, the mass killings of Masalit by the Rapid Support Forces in recent days remind us of the massacres that began 20 years ago.” The American official added in a press statement.
“This violence has led to the death of hundreds, forced thousands to flee to Chad, and further endangered humanitarian aid in the region. It must stop.” She continued.
