The United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator in Sudan, Clementine Nkwita Salami, has expressed her deep concern about the food security situation in Sudan.
On Tuesday, the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) said the violent conflict, organized violence, and ongoing economic deterioration are pushing 17.7 million people in Sudan to high levels of acute food insecurity between October 2023 and February 2024, which prompted Salami to say on Wednesday that she was very concerned about these reports.
The United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator in Sudan, Clementine Nkwita Salami, warned in an interview with Agence France-Presse on Sunday of the danger of stopping humanitarian aid to the country, which has been immersed in war for nearly nine months.
