Arabic Language and its Historical role: A lecture at AWU

The Arab Writers Union held a cultural meeting for researcher Dr. Irshad Ahmed, the Indian ambassador to Syria, titled ‘The Arabic Language and its Historical Role.’ The lecture focused on the importance of the Arabic language throughout history, including original poetry by various poets.
It also emphasized the necessity of cooperation between Syria and India. Dr. Mohamed Al-Hourani, the President of the Arab Writers Union AWU stressed the need for cultural coordination and attention to intellectual, cultural, and creative commonalities between the two countries.
He mentioned that the union has published several books translated from Hindi, promoting cultural exchange and strengthening ties between the two nations. Dr. Irshad Ahmed commended the strong relationship between the two countries and expressed his participation in numerous cultural activities in Syria, including visits to most cultural places and the Arabic Language Academy, as his degree is in the Arabic language and the fields of criticism and literature to transfer the Syrian cultural encyclopedia to India.
Dr. Ahmed pointed out that he was acquainted with the works of a number of poets, including Nizar Qabbani, Ahmed Shawqi, Hafez Ibrahim, and Imru’ Al-Qais, explaining that there is interest in the Arabic language in India because of its eloquence, eloquence, and writers.
The members of the Executive Office and the attending writers presented a number of interventions aimed at acculturating and interacting with the Syrian and Indian cultures.
