Saudi FM: Red Sea Safety, Requires Ceasefire

Saudi Arabia’s foreign minister said on Tuesday that Houthi attacks on commercial ships in the Red Sea are nconnected to the war in Gaza and there is a need for an immediate ceasefire there.

Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud said during the World Economic Forum (WEF) meeting in Davos that the Kingdom’s priority is finding a path to de-escalation through a ceasefire in Gaza.

Meanwhile, Numerous vessels turned away following the advice. The number passing through the Bab el-Mandeb since Friday has fallen by more than half compared with the corresponding period a month earlier, ship-tracking data monitored by Bloomberg show.
