UNICEF: 4 million displaced children in Sudan

Sudan Events – Agencies

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) said that Sudan is witnessing the largest child displacement crisis in the world, as more than 4!million children have been displaced since the beginning of the clashes in Sudan.
The UN organization stressed that the war in Sudan must stop now, and cited the testimony of the 10-year-old girl, Ibtihal, who said that she brought her bag to continue her education whenever they moved to a new place.
Ibtihal was displaced twice, as reported by the United Nations UN in reference to the repeated displacement of Sudanese, as hundreds of thousands of displaced people were displaced from Gezira State following the Rapid Support RSF attack in mid-December.
All educational institutions in Sudan have stopped since the outbreak of war in April 2023, with millions of students facing difficult questions regarding their educational future.
The war in Sudan resulted in the displacement of more than 10 people, about 2!million of whom left the country for neighboring countries, while the rest remain in difficult humanitarian conditions in shelter centers and safe states.
The High Commissioner for Human Rights UNHCR said in a recent report that the crisis in Sudan is “a tragedy that appears to have slipped into the fog of global amnesia,” he said.
Thousands of Sudanese students, especially University and postgraduate students, are trying to continue their education outside the country, but the closure of universities concentrated in the capital, Khartoum, has prevented many of them from obtaining the necessary documents to complete their studies.
