Sudanese in Cairo complain about the high prices of Eid supplies

The prices of Sudanese goods and Eid supplies in Cairo witnessed a noticeable increase, which Sudanese in Egypt complained about. While the trading of the Sudanese pound through “Bankak” application reached its lowest level, as it recorded 27.9 pounds on the second day of Eid al-Fitr against Egyptian pound.
The prices of baked goods also witnessed an increase, as the price of a kg of cakes reached 200 pounds, the price of a kg of biscuits reached 150 pounds, the price of a kg of Lebanese sweets reached 180 pounds and the price of a kg of sweets reached 200 pounds.
Ikhlas Abdullah (residing in Cairo) pointed out that this year the Sudanese lack the preparations and equipment for before the Eid and the smells of baking and its manufacture in preparation for the Eid, noting the escalation in the prices of baking industry supplies and the resort of many of them to buy ready-made ones, which also witnessed an increase in prices reaching double compared to the prices during the past year.
She confirmed that the specter of high prices has affected all commodities, especially Sudanese ones, where the price of a kg of wheat exceeded 400 pounds and 200 pounds for a kg of dukwa, while the price of a kg of wheat flour reached 23 pounds, 400 pounds for a pound of tea, and 45 pounds for a kg of sugar.
