Jaafar Al-Mirghani: Our Participation in Paris Seminar to Express Sudanese Voice in Support of the Army

Sudan Events – Follow-ups

The head of the Democratic Bloc and Vice-President of the Democratic Unionist Party, Jaafar Al-Mirghani, has arrived in the French capital, Paris, in response to an invitation from the governments of France, Germany, and the European Union to participate in a Sudanese civil society seminar on the principles of the democratic transition process in Sudan after the silence of the gun.
Al-Mirghani stressed that participation in the Paris Seminar came to express the national Sudanese voice that is biased towards the Sudanese state and its legitimate institutions and which supports the Sudanese Armed Forces in their defense of the sovereignty, security and safety of Sudan and its territorial integrity, and to emphasize the need for international efforts to stop the war to be consistent with the interest of all Sudanese without negative interference in Sudanese issue.
He said in a press statement that addressing the humanitarian crisis in Sudan requires an active international role that condemns human rights violations committed by the Rapid Support (RSF) Militia against civilians, including attacks on relief convoys and the militia’s declared positions of not allowing relief to pass to those affected.
He stressed that the road map for humanitarian work in Sudan begins with implementing the outcomes of the Jeddah Declaration to protect civilians, which stipulates the eviction of RSF from civilian homes and facilities.
He continued, “The priority now is to work to ensure the return of civilians to their homes by pushing towards silencing the voice of weapons by stopping hostilities, and then all Sudanese can sit down and discuss the future of Sudan through a Sudanese-Sudanese dialogue.”
