Washington: We Are Concerned about Militia’s Destruction of Villages in El Fasher

The United States of America has called on all forces carrying weapons in Sudan to immediately stop the attacks in El Fasher, North Darfur State, while stressing that the army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have two options: Escalate the violence and perpetuate the suffering or end the war and restore power to the people.
The United States said in a statement on Wednesday that the attacks in El Fasher, North Darfur, must stop immediately.
It expressed its concern about indicators indicating an imminent attack by the RSF and its affiliated militias.
It added: “The attack on the city of El Fasher would expose civilians to severe danger, including hundreds of thousands of displaced people who have taken refuge there.”
The United States also expressed grave concern over credible reports that the RSF and affiliated militias destroyed multiple villages west of El Fasher.
