Zamalek faces a risky confrontation against Dreams

USM Algiers, the holder of the African Confederation of Nations title, will meet its host, RS Berkane of Morocco, in an expected confrontation on Sunday in the second leg of the semi-finals of the African Confederation Cup, at the 5 July Stadium,
The two teams are facing complex calculations after the events of the first leg, and the Confederation of African Football (CAF) considered the Algerian team a loser (0-3). The Algerian Federation is looking forward to a good appearance in the journey to preserve the title, and the team depends on the team spirit in order to win the match, and will rely heavily on its striker. Mali’s Abdullah Kanu scored two goals to qualify for the semi-finals against Nigeria’s Rivers United. The team also includes a number of good and skilled players, most notably Nabil Amara, Khaled Bousilo, and Cameroonian Lionel Atiba.
On the other hand, RS Berkane, the owner of the land and the fans, are seeking to achieve victory, and to reserve their place in the final match for the third time, in search of a new achievement in the club’s history, after achieving the title on two occasions and adding its third continental title after (2020 and 2022). The Moroccan team will miss the services of four players for various reasons. The injury will rule out Senegalese striker Lamine Camara, Oussama El Melewi, and Abdel Karim Baddi, while midfielder Omar Arjoun will be suspended.

Zamalek is looking for compensation against Dreams

In a second match, Egyptian Zamalek aspires to achieve victory with the aim of compensation or a positive draw after the disappointing first-leg result at Cairo Stadium with a goalless draw, when it meets its host, Ghanaian Dreams, at Baba Yara Stadium in the city of Kumasi. The Portuguese coach of the Egyptian team, Jose Gomez, hopes that his attackers will get rid of the goal-scoring barrenness that plagued them in the previous match, as they wasted many chances, especially in the second half. Zamalek will regain the efforts of some of its distinguished players, such as full-backs Omar Gaber and Ahmed Fattouh, and the pivotal player Ahmed Sayed (Zizou), which may impose a major change in the squad, which includes important names such as playmaker Ahmed Hamdi and Tunisians Hamza Mathlouthi and Saif Al-Din Al-Jaziri, while there is doubt about the participation of Mahmoud Abdel-Razek Shikabala due to an injury he suffered during the team’s training. On the other hand, Dreams is looking for victory and qualification for the final, and the team has a strong attack. He is the best in the competition and will face a difficult test.
