25 Displaced Families ..Forcefully Evacuated From Schools in Atbara

On Tuesday, the security authorities in Atbara locality in the River Nile State has evacuated about 25 families from two schools that were sheltering them after their displacement as a result of the war between the army and the Rapid Support militia in Khartoum.
The head of one of the expelled families, who requested not to be disclosed for reasons related to his and his family’s safety, said, according to “Sudan Tribune,” that a police force supported by elements wearing civilian clothes raided the “Badr” School for Boys in the Al-Hasaya area and removed the existing families.
He revealed that the families had received direct threats to arrest those who objected to the decision, file a report against them, expel them out of the state, or forcibly deport them to the city of Omdurman – according to his statement.
In this context, the official in the media department in Atbara locality, Hassan Omar, said, according to “Sudan Tribune,” that the locality prepared village 6 in the Manasir area to transport the arrivals there and informed them that those schools are examination centers and gave them sufficient warning.
He added: “The local council explained to the displaced people the conditions of evacuation for a sufficient period of time and held direct meetings with them, and upon implementation, they backed down.”
