Sudan Urges Ethiopia to Treat Sudanese Well

The Acting Foreign Minister, Hussein Awad Ali met, on Wednesday, with Ambassador Mesgano Adga, Minister of State of the Ethiopian Foreign Ministry, in Addis Ababa, in the presence of Ambassador El-Zain Ibrahim Hussein, Sudanese Ambassador to Ethiopia.
The Sudanese Foreign Minister gave a comprehensive explanation of the developments in the situation in Sudan and the roles that neighboring countries can play to contribute to achieving peace in Sudan.
The Acting Foreign Minister renewed Sudan’s commitment to the policy of good neighborliness with Ethiopia and all neighboring countries.
He pointed to the good treatment received by Ethiopians in Sudan, urging the Ethiopian government to treat the Sudanese on its territory reciprocally, especially those who took refuge in Ethiopia due to the war.
He expressed his aspiration for a positive Ethiopian role in resuming Sudan’s membership in the African Union due to its influence in the continental organization.
For his part, Ethiopian Foreign Minister Mesgano Adga expressed his thanks to the Sudanese Foreign Minister for his keenness on meaningful and constructive communication between the two countries.
He renewed his country’s commitment to standing by Sudan in the crisis it is going through. He expressed his hope that it would be resolved soon, and that security, peace and stability would return to Sudan.
