Sudan Events – Agencies

The head of the Sudanese Justice and Equality Movement (JEM), Finance Minister Jibriel Ibrahim, has confirmed that the forces that signed the Sudan Charter to manage the transitional phase have not yet turned into a real coalition with regulatory bodies to manage its affairs.
Jibriel said, according to the investigator, that these forces wanted to send a clear message to the Sudanese people, the armed forces, and the world, that they are all united on what was stated in the document that was signed, adding that these forces are united to stand against the rebellion and the conspiracy against the country, and to stand with the armed forces and with the people, because this war is between the Rapid Support Militia (RSF) and the people, and he continued, “They also need to meet again in Port Sudan,” indicating that the next Port Sudan meeting will be more unifying, and that what happened is not just a signing of the document.
Jibriel said that in the next meeting in Port Sudan, we will agree on practical steps to support the armed forces, and we will also agree on practical steps to perhaps form a transitional government, and also go around the people in all cities, so that the people feel that there is real support from the political forces and civil society organizations.
He said that Islamists are part of Sudanese society and no one can erase them with the stroke of a pen.
Regarding the situation in Darfur, Jibriel confirmed that the rebellion is still mobilizing its forces, but the conditions of the armed forces and the joint forces in El Fasher are good, and we are confident that we will stand firm and repel the rebellion.
In his response to the collapse of the price of the Sudanese pound against the dollar, Jibriel said that it is natural that in any war, the state is ineffective and does not have external resources, and that the demand for the dollar rises because there are no revenues, adding that as much as we try to stop this collapse, as long as there is high demand on the dollar, whether for importing strategic or necessary goods or war inputs, and it is very natural that the currency erodes, and this happened with all peoples who faced wars and faced such a problem.
Regarding the presence of the armed movements that signed the Juba Peace Agreement in the formation of the next government, which is expected to be technocrats and without quotas, the head of the Justice and Equality Movement confirmed that the proportion of armed movements is fixed, and that they will be present in the next formation of the government.
