In memory of the martyr Shaden Muhammad Hussein.. Al Hakama is the voice of peace
Sudan Events – Magda Hassan
Since the beginning of the war, a rose fell whose fragrance was spreading from the sands of Kordofan to Omdurman, a treacherous city that ended her life, the singer Shaden Muhammad Hussein, the wise and enlightened Hakama (local ensuthiastic singer), an unfinished artistic project that was mercilessly buried by the war. Shaden is the story of a Bedouin beauty, artistic ambition, and a cultural project that the field missed while she was at the beginning of her artistic life.
*Her biography
In memory of the martyr, we stand on her ruins, and we learn more from her fragrant biography, her biography as you always know it: She was born and raised in the city of Al-Obeid. She studied basic education at Al-Shaimaa Model School and secondary school at Al-Sayyid Ali Al-Mirghani Model School. Shaden studied economics and administrative sciences, specializing in banking and insurance at Al-Ahlia University…her father is a retired general in the Signal Corps, in the Sudanese Army… The nature of her father’s work taught her to roam inside and outside the country, while her mother taught her to love her homes and belong to our roots… She was to her families, groups and her neighbours… Simply put, She was the one in the family who loved vacationing with her loved ones, aunts and uncles. She loved the desert very much.
*New icon
Out of her love for the simple desert, Shaden decided to contribute to reforming these societies in a simple way: “One of the most disturbing and terrifying things is the way people think about solutions to their problems, and of course Al Hakama is one of those who are enthusiastic about wars, despite the presence of positive roles, her management of wars is one of her ugliest duties because of this tribal rulership, they lose a large number of their sons and men, even young people. My goal was to change this deadly approach and be that educated, peaceful, aware, and kind Hakama so that those around me could live in peace.” She said.
Even this role requires talent, and Shaden revealed that she inherited writing and the refinement of vocabulary from her family, but she made her mark: “I added knowledge to myself, refined it with experiences and education, and was keen to develop the language of peace. My mission is to bring back the best ancient customs and traditions in a modern guise so that we can be in line with modern thinking and not differ from others, and we start where they left off.” She said.
*A feeling of security
Shaden harnessed her project to serve community peace with the idea that the people of the simple region in Kordofan and Darfur only need stability and security: “They love their desert, they love agriculture, grazing and roaming as they go, they only want a sense of security.”
Has this become impossible, with no stability, death will multiply, eating and drinking will decrease, the land will be depleted, and education and health will be lacking. This is exactly what happened to my family.
*Strong motivation
Her people are her motivation for her project, to which she devoted her time: “What motivated me to defend the value of Al Hakamas, to prove that she can also bring love and peace, for she is proud of her origin and her roots, she satirizes those who made mistakes in her tribe with a chaste tongue and a transparent language, she plants in us a love of the homeland, and she strengthens the strength of our heroes. Our knights rule justly, and they are the ones who preserve the name and greatness of our ancestors, and are not limited to the zeal of wars or bloodshed.
*Goal and duty
The wise, Shaden, was completely convinced that the problems created by politics cannot be solved except with peace, awareness, and focus. Therefore, her call was: Be one hand, love one another until you become one body, so your strength prevails and then you will live in peace away from strife and injustice, and enjoy together the beauty of our regions and the simplicity and kindness of our people in the desert. We rebuild our land, we learn and teach, we heal and treat and we are self-sufficient…only stability, peace and love (my goal and duty towards my family)
*Remaining words
These were Shaden’s remaining words and messages and her announced project of returning to the countryside, and serving simple communities with awareness messages from those communities. The treacherous war took Shaden and her project designed against it. She disappeared with her body and left her good impact, her immortal words, and her beautiful voice.
