Saudi Arabia: Efforts to Address Sudan’s Arrears to Funds and Financial Institutions

The Undersecretary for International Relations at the Saudi Ministry of Finance, Khaled Abu Bakr Bawazir, has revealed efforts to solve the problems of Sudan’s arrears, with Arab funds and financial institutions, especially the Islamic Development Bank and the Saudi Fund for Development, in order to complete projects that are nearing completion, such as water projects in the states of Gedaref and the Red Sea.
During his meeting with the Sudanese Minister of Finance, Dr. Jibril Ibrahim, on the sidelines of the annual meetings of the Arab financial Institutions in Cairo, the Saudi official discussed ways to achieve economic stability in Sudan and the available financing opportunities provided by the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa and the OPEC Fund.
For his part, the Sudanese minister expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Saudi government and his brother Mohammed Al-Jadaan, the Saudi Minister of Finance, who did not attend the meeting, for the efforts and continued support for Sudan.
The two sides stressed the depth of bilateral relations between the two countries in various fields, especially the areas of economic and financial cooperation and ways to develop them in the future.
